The most coveted film role in Hollywood has finally been filled out. Fans of "Fifty Shades of Grey" need not wait any longer. After months of dealing with rumours, E.L. James has finally announced the actress officially up for the part of Anastasia Steele. Dakota Johnson will be playing the iconic part in the BDSM-themed flick.

Since the release of E.L. James novel back in 2012, fans have been dying for a film adaptation to be produced. Of course, right after the announcements that Universal Studios and Focus Features would be producing the film, fans immediately scouted for potential stars.

Countless lists and polls filled the web which contained names of potential stars for the part of Christian Grey and Anastasia Steele. "Gilmore Girls" Alexis Bledel and "Game of Thrones" Emilia Clarke were two of the strongest contenders for the part. Yet, even with an impressive fan base supporting these favourites, these stars weren't even eyed by producers.

If there was one lovely lady that caught the eye of "Fifty Shades" producers, it was none other than the "Social Network" star, Dakota Johnson. Author E.L. James made the official announcement on Twitter before Focus Features confirmed the news after.

"Good moaning all. Hold on to your hats..." tweeted James, adding, "I am delighted to let you know that the lovely Dakota Johnson has agreed to be our Anastasia in the film adaptation of Fifty Shades of Grey."

For those living under a rock, Dakota Johnson is the daughter to famous Melanie Griffith and Don Johnson. Aside from her short part in "Social Network", Dakota starred in "21 Jump Street," "The Five-Year Engagement" and "Need for Speed."
