Fifty Shades of Grey movie casting is under way. Australian actress Lauren Watson is now among the most popular Anastasia Steele candidates, and fans want her to be with Chace Crawford as Christian Grey.

In On Air with Ryan Seacrest, the Idol host and multimedia celeb reported Lauren Watson and Chace Crawford are likely to be cast for the roles of Ana Steele and Christian Grey. The film adaptation of E.L. James' erotic trilogy, "Fifty Shades of Grey," is set to run in cinemas in August 2014.

Rumours are more ablaze now than ever. Ian Somerhalder is reported to have been "eliminated" from the Fifty Shades of Grey movie. Now other popular candidates, such as Matt Bomer (35 y.o.) and Henry Cavill (30 y.o.), are also out -- due to their age. Chace Crawford, 28, who is already a familiar "rich boy character," has reportedly bagged the Christian Grey role.

In a 2012 poll by Daily Quirk, Lauren Watson ranked second to Alexis Bledel as fan favourite to play the sex submissive Miss Steele. (Follow this link for Lauren's Facebook Fan Page.) Lauren has expressed interest in the role and has said she has read the Fifty Shades books. She also said her friends have been supportive since her name came out as a candidate.

"I got (the Fifty Shades of Grey books) and read them all within the week! I was hooked," Lauren has earlier told Examiner.com. When asked about Chace Crawford, she said, "I'm a big fan of Chace Crawford. He could play anyone and it would work for me! I really like Matt Bomers look and Jessie Pavelka is another top candidate for me when I think of Christian's physical image. I don't think I can pick just one actor!"

For his part, Chace is definitely interested in playing Christian Grey. In an interview with FOX411, Chace said he "would love the challenge." Asked if he would be comfortable with sex and bondage scenes, the actor joked, "I am only comfortable with S&M sex scenes! The other ones are just too simple and boring for me."
