Casting rumours continue for the highly-anticipated film adaptation of "Fifty Shades of Grey." E.L. James may have announced that official casting for the film is scheduled far off but that isn't stopping fans of "Fifty" from casting their own potential stars.

One new pair is making waves in web polls as Christian Grey and Anastasia Steele and it is none other than Ian Somerhalder and Alexis Bledel.

Surprisingly, Ian Somerhalder who had lost the top spot to Matt Bomer has made his way to the top once more. Somerhalder continues to be a fan favourite for the role of Christian Grey. While "The Vampire Diaries" star has been keen not to drop any hints on the casting, fans assume Ian has already bagged the role. Now the big question is who would star opposite Ian Somerhalder?

Of course, Alexis Bledel, who has been consistently topping the charts, should play opposite Ian Somerhalder. Bledel of "Gilmore Girls" continues to be a fan favourite for the role of Anastasia Steele along with Emilia Clarke, Lucy Hale, Ashley Greene and Emma Watson.

With both Ian and Alexis having partners in real life, would their other halves agree with their pairing given they'd have to film some exquisitely raunchy and racy roles? Somerhalder has been dating "Vampire Diaries" co-star, Nina Dobrev since 2011. On the other hand, Bledel has just been engaged to "Mad Men" star, Vincent Kartheiser. The erotic roles taken on by Somerhalder and Bledel could place a strain on both actors' relationship.

Still, Ian and Alexis aren't sure-win names for the films' casting. For one, Bledel is said to be out of the running given the "Gilmore Girls" star is set to be in a FOX television series that is predicted to be as popular as "New Girl." As for Somerhalder, if Ian does get cast, there might be trouble with casting his Anastasia Steele with the latest rumours that Dobrev is a bit overprotective on the side.

Universal Studios is yet to secure a suitable director for the film which means casting is still way far off schedule. This gives fan favourites, Somerhalder and Bledel enough time to sort out their schedules and see if "Fifty Shades" could be part of their time.
