“The Walking Dead” spinoff series titled “Fear The Walking Dead” is set to take back the story to the start of the deadly zombie outbreak. Comic book writer/producer Robert Kirkman shared the difference between the two series.

Kirkman talked to Rotten Tomatoes and shared that “Fear The Walking Dead” is visually different from “The Walking Dead.” The writer revealed that they are not shooting the spinoff on 16 millimeter. The new series is shot digitally.

He also mentioned that the spinoff will explore the areas that “The Walking Dead” missed. According to Kirkman, the start of “The Walking Dead” was a “great way to open,” but looking at a civilization fall apart is something different.

“But actually watching civilization crumble around these people and getting to experience them learning how to adapt in a much faster way, with much more danger and much more uncertainty, I think, is going to make the show very different,” Kirkman said. He told that people will have a “unique experience” even if they have not watched “The Walking Dead” before.

The walkers in “Fear The Walking Dead” will be different in terms of looks. Since it is the outbreak and everything is fresh, the walkers will not look rotten but more human. Kirkman stated that this will make it difficult for the people to get rid of them.

If “The Walking Dead” gives importance to how a character unfolds during the course, the spinoff series will look into the family dynamics. Kirkman said that “Fear The Walking Dead” focuses on the family. The new show has Madison’s family and Travis’ as they are trying to build a relationship. He said that the stories of the family, while the civilization is going south, make the plot quite interesting.

Regarding the origin of the outbreak, Kirkman confirmed that the show’s focus will not be to find out how it all happened. He added that it would make it boring.

“Fear The Walking Dead” Season 1 airs on AMC. Stay tuned for more updates. Share your views in the section below.
