John Green's beloved best-selling novel, "The Fault in Our Stars" is set to have its film adaptation. Shailene Woodley had officially signed on for the film as the female protagonist, Hazel Grace Lancaster. With production said to begin this year, Woodley is scheduled to have her hair chopped off for the role and donating it to charity.

Shailene Woodley definitely proves she's worthy of the role in John Green's "The Fault in Our Stars." Not only is Shailene a big fan of the novel but she's got a big heart for it as well. On his Tumblr blog, John Green states Woodley is set to chop of eight inches of her glorious locks and donate it to a children's charity.

"She's donating her hair to Children with Hair Loss, an organization that provides free wigs to kids who've experienced hair loss due to cancer, burns, or other medical conditions," stated Green, adding, "I want to be clear that this was entirely Shai's idea," he continues. "(I don't even think the studio knows about it.) I hope if you're able, you'll consider joining Shai in donating. Thanks!"

In reference to the hair cut, Shailene thanked her fans for the continuous support.

"so humbled and inspired by all of you who are physically AND emotionally supporting #hairforhazel & #itgrowsback . LET'S KEEP IT GOING!" stated Woodley on her Twitter account.

"The Fault in Our Stars" will begin filming by next month in Pittsburgh. Joining Shailene Woodley in the cast as Augustus 'Gus' Waters is Ansel Elgort, Shai's co-star as well on "Divergent." For those who still haven't heard of "The Fault in Our Stars", a synopsis from Good Reads is as follows.

"Despite the tumor-shrinking medical miracle that has bought her a few years, Hazel has never been anything but terminal, her final chapter inscribed upon diagnosis. But when a gorgeous plot twist named Augustus Waters suddenly appears at Cancer Kid Support Group, Hazel's story is about to be completely rewritten."
