“I’m Not The Only One” singer Sam Smith seemingly took heed of the criticisms against his body and did something about them. Sam shared that he lost a total of 14 lbs. in just 14 days.

The soulful singer took to Instagram to share his wonderful achievement of losing weight quickly but healthily. “Three weeks ago I met a woman who has completely changed my life,” Smith revealed in an Instagram post on Tuesday. “Amelia Freer has helped me lose over a stone [14 pounds] in 2 weeks and has completely transformed my relationship with food,” he added.

Freer is a nutritional therapist who emphasised on a diet that bans gluten, dairy and refined sugar. The therapist had penned a book titled “Eat. Nourish. Grow.” Freer’s diet is reportedly a culmination of all of her own eating habits.

Apart from this Instagram post shouting his victory, Smith has also been regularly updating his Instagram followers of the healthy diet regimen he has been keeping and his strict adherence to gym time. He has pictures of the healthier foods that he had been eating as well as pictures of him looking leaner. He even has a picture of him in the gym surrounded with dumbbells to show how committed he is to a healthier lifestyle.

Earlier this year, Smith was criticised by Howard Stern as fat and ugly, to which he replied with grace. According to Stern, on his own show, “The Sirius XM,” Sam Smith proved him wrong. Stern said he really believed that Sam would just be a one hit wonder with his phenomenal song, “Stay with Me.”

However, instead of stopping with this praise, Stern said that he was further impressed by Smith because he remains relevant in the music industry despite being fat, ugly and gay. Stern implied that Sam must be really good because his voice and song, and not his appearance, made him popular. Stern, in the end, called him the “male Adele” and congratulated him for “beating the odds.”

Smith said he could not believe what he read and made a note to himself, through Twitter, to just ignore. Fans came into his defense immediately afterward, saying they find him attractive.
