‘Fast Five’ hits U.S. theaters midnight Thursday
The cars-and-mayhem-themed Fast & Furious, heist film saga, with roiling testosterones with a group of hunk actors, is expected to attract both males and female patrons to race to the movie houses this weekend.
‘Fast Five’ has continued to generate rave reviews and has shown a number of good signs that it will do well at the box office as it opens in U.S. theaters midnight Thursday.
The cars-and-mayhem-themed 'Fast & Furious', heist film saga with roiling testosterones with a group of hunk actors - - Vin Diesel, Paul Walker, Dwayne Johnson, Tyrese Gibson and Sung Kang - - it is expected that both males and female patrons will race to the movie houses this weekend.
One good sign that ‘Fast Five’ could rake in millions in its opening week is its strength at the box office overseas. It has reportedly collected $31.5 million in its first seven days alone in foreign markets.
The Hollywood Reporter said that ‘Fast Five’ has outpaced any of the previous four ‘Fast & Furious’ series in its opening week in each of the four foreign countries - - Australia, the U.K., New Zealand, and South Korea - - where it opened last Friday, a week ahead of its U.S. release.
The film by Universal Pictures has been reported to have cost an estimated $1250 million in production, while others estimated the heist film at $150 million.
The fifth sequel of Fast & Furious’ directed by Justin Lin has morphed from a race to a heist movie. Lin also helmed ‘Fast & Furious 4’ and ‘Fast & Furious 3: Tokyo Drift’.
The film shows explosive sequences of a couple of excellent car chases and vicious fights - - a formula that has worked for its previous sequels but is expected to entice more of the franchise fans with the addition of Dwayne Johnson and hot female stars including Jordana Brewster and Gal Gadot.
