Fallout Shelter finally launches in both PC and MAC with new upgrades to its features. The game was previously launched last year for mobile devices. Fallout Shelter was announced together with Fallout 4, and served as a teaser for the launch of Fallout 4. Game developer Bethesda has been developing the game under the radar.

Android and iOS players have received the update 1.6, upgrading their version of Fallout Shelter to PC and MAC’s. The new updated version features a new combat system. Players are now able to select targets in combat instead. Critical hits require to complete a mini game to succeed. This makes combat more controllable compared to the previous fully automated combat.

New areas, new quests and new enemies were added to the game. Iconic areas like Supder Duper Mart and Red Rocket are now available for exploration.

Dwellers are now able to unlock new gear as well as new hairstyles. Crafting was also included into the game. Nuka Cola Quantum was also added, reducing waiting time in actions.

Fallout Shelter revolves around managing the dwellers of the Vault. The Vault is an underground bunker and it is the player’s job to ensure the expansion and survival of the Vault. The game is like a simplified The Sims and a city builder combined.

Players are able to assign dwellers to work on different areas of the Vault. Each dweller has its own characteristic, making them better at certain tasks compared to other dwellers. The player can also train the dwellers to become better at what they do.

Players manage the expansion of the Vault, too. Deciding when dwellers can have and raise children to increase the Vault’s population and man power is part of the Fallout Shelter experience.

Fallout Shelter can be obtained via its website. Players are required to create a Bethesda account to download and play the game for free.
