Your favourite fairy tale Cinderella has come alive again and this time it is in the form of ballet! The world premiere of the choreographer Alexei Ratmansky's "Cinderella" happened Tuesday night in Australia and has left the audience spellbound.

Ace choreographer Alexei Ratmansky, ex- director of the Bolshoi Ballet, is now resident choreographer of American Ballet Theatre. Together they have created this masterpiece version of the fairytale romance. The dancers and the artist mesmerised the audience to the tunes of Sergie Prokofiev's music.

"Cinderella" is a must watch for all dance enthusiasts as it has many solo performances by the artists and some superbly choreographed acts.

''Cinderella and Prince have a lot of physicality in the roles. Very tricky partnering, a lot of solo dancing, so they could really show themselves to the fullest," Russian-born Ratmansky said during an interview with The Age.

"The dancers really dive into it and try to communicate with the audience,'' he added.

This performance runs for approximately 150 minutes including two intervals but the ballet-lovers are all praise for the show. "@njbrown16: Really enjoyed @TheAusBallet #ratmanskycinderella last night, highly recommend!!," said one user N J Brown on Twitter.

"Brimming with wit and wonder ... sweeping romance and delightful humour" 5-star review for #ratmanskycinderella," said Simon from the Theatre People.

"In 2nd act of #RatmanskyCinderella, I scribbled in my notepad: "FUCK YEAH, BALLET!" Groovy, irresistible & damn near flawless @TheAusBallet," said another fan on Twitter.

The audience was all praises for the actors in the ballet too. "Talk about rising stars- Harris, Gow and Hills were terrific! Loved the casting," said Jordan Beth Vincent on Twitter.

Although the story remains quite similar to the original fairytale romance where a woman with humble origins is rescued by the Prince charming with help of fairy Godmother's magic, but the director has made few simple changes to the script. The audience will not see any pumpkin cart and mouse of Cinderella but will instead have a spectacular view of the planets and stars on the stage.

The set design by Jerome Kaplan is colourful, magical and almost surreal. The stepmother and stepsisters are all very much present with the trying session of the glass shoe too. So are you a game to watch "Cinderella." Most of their tickets are a sell out, but you could try your luck here.
