Facebook's profile pictures can be replaced by profile videos
Facebook has just made major changes to user profiles expected to add more life and action to individual pages.
Now, Facebook users can upload seven second looped videos as their profile pictures. Called Profile Videos, these clips will automatically play for anyone that takes a look at a user's profile. It’s expected this new feature will be quite similar to GIFs, according to Tech Crunch.
In addition to the new Profile Videos, Facebook now comes with temporary profile pictures. This permits users to apply certain items such as a Celebrate Pride filter for a pre-determined amount of time.
This new feature can also be used during Throwback Thursdays, which will run for a whole day. When Thursday is over, the picture will automatically revert back to the user's original profile picture.
Facebook settings have also been tweaked and give users the ability to control what details are shown on their profiles. There’s also a new portion that can be found at the top of the profile.
This new area can be adjusted depending on what a user wants other people to know (such as a One Line Bio or Featured Photos). Featured Photos can display five photos pre-selected by the user. This way, site visitors will get to see more images of the profile owner, in addition to the profile picture and cover photo.
Tech Times has reported that Facebook, which has been around for more than a decade, is actually being viewed and visited by people from all over the world as much as four billion times daily.
It must be noted, however, the website has clearly gone through a lot of changes since it was first launched in 2004. These new changes have made it clear that Mark Zuckerberg's brainchild is being kept up to date, especially now that it has several rivals online.
