CBS sci-fi drama "Extant" starring Halle Berry (Molly Woods) aired back-to-back episodes of “Double Vision” and “The Greater Good” on Wednesday from 9-11 pm as its two-part Season 2 finale. Aside from Berry, other cast members including Tyler Hilton (Charlie), Julie Gelineau (Grace Gummer), Ethan Woods (Pierce Gagnon) and Jeffrey Dean Morgan (J.D.) were featured heavily in the said episodes. The main storyline was about saving the world from another dangerous threat.

Molly revealed the details of General Tobias Shepherd’s (David Morrissey) death to the Global Security Commission (GSC). Along with Ethan and JD, Molly went to Julie’s apartment with the amulet in tow. They found out that Charlie tried to hang himself. Luckily for Charlie, they were able to save him in the nick of time. It was revealed that he felt guilty because he wasn’t able to locate Julie and save her. JD also discovered that he had been drinking before he tried to kill himself.

Thankfully, Julie was eventually found when Ethan discovered that her prosthetic legs could be used as a device to track her whereabouts. They discovered her locked in a coffin in the Humanich’s lab.

Lucy (Kiersey Clemons) made a bold move that could have resulted in mass destruction. She ended up betraying Threat Assessment and Algorithmic Research (TAALR) and killing Fiona Stanton (Kate Burton). She also killed everyone in the Global Security Commission (GSC). On top of that, she created a Humanich that is identical to Molly. The two Mollys even had a fight scene. Of course, the real Molly won and overpowered Humanich Molly.

Meanwhile, JD and Molly raced against time to reach the hybrids and prevent the Humanichs’ plot that could ruin mankind. It involved using the stolen virus strain to wipe out most of the humans and hybrids. Lucy also realised something about the GSC which made her question her loyalty to it. Plus, Ethan’s life was put in danger.

In the end, Molly was able to insert the amulet into TAALR’s hardware and the Humanichs were destroyed in the process. Molly also revealed to the public the truth about what happened to her in space and with TAALR. It's interesting to note that towards the last part of the “Extant” Season 2 finale, TAALR seemed to have survived and could possibly be in a Humanich body, having coffee while watching Molly’s speech on TV.
