An erotic Harry Styles-inspired film is coming to cinemas soon, and the author of the fan fiction on which is it based on wants either One Direction crooner or British actor Douglas Booth to play the male lead.

“After,” a fan fiction book written by Anna Todd on Wattpad, has already snatched a major book publisher which will turn the novel into a series. Simon & Schuster imprint Gallery Books released the first instalment of the novel in October.

And if that’s not enough for the 25-year-old amateur novelist, Paramount Pictures also acquired the screen rights to the book, which meant that the thousands of readers of Todd’s Wattpad fan fiction can watch the story unfold in the big screen. Adam Shankman and Jennifer Gibgot have signed on to produce the project, which is hoped to emulate the success of “Fifty Shades of Grey,” originally a fan fiction by E.L. James based on “Twilight.”

“Tessa is a girl in college. It’s not me, but I’ve realised we have certain things in common,” Todd told E! News of the heroine of her story. “The male lead in the story just looks like Harry Styles, but he is in college not in a band. All of the 1D boys are in the story. Liam [Payne] is Harry’s stepbrother in the book. In the book Harry is Hardin, Louis [Tomlinson] is Logan, Lian is Landan, Niall [Horan] is Nate and Zayn [Malik] is Zedd.”

As Todd further explained, it’s a “coming-of-age story” that focuses on Tessa and Hardin’s love-hate relationship that developed into full-blown love. It’s not for One Direction’s usual tween followers, though. The story is filled with sex scenes, just like “Fifty,” but it’s a “vanilla version.”

The author would love it if Harry himself can play the part, but she admitted that he is “too sweet” to dabble into that kind of sexy role.

“Douglas Booth is my other dream cast,” she said, referring to the 22-year-old English actor. And for Tessa, she had Australian singer/actress Indiana Evans in mind while writing the novel.
