Eric Bana has been set to play the King, Elvis Presley in "Princess Bride" star Cary Elwes' directorial debut titled "Elvis & Nixon".

Bana's production company, Pick Up Truck pictures (Love the Beast) is set to produce the movie which marks its first U.S. production. The film is set to be shot in Shreveport, La., and Los Angeles, California and is being financed by Michael Benaroya's Benaroya Pictures.

The Film is based on the Dec. 21, 1971 visit that The King paid to Nixon, who may be played by veteran actor Danny Huston, in the white house. Interestingly, Presley wrote a 6-page letter to President Nixon requesting a meeting and also suggesting that he be made a "Federal agent at-large" for the Bureau of Narcotics and Dangerous drugs. Presley brought a Colt 45 pistol as a gift to Nixon and also showed the president family pictures he had with him.

This poses a serious question in a lot of fan's mind... Are we all going to be all shook up or is Eric Bana going to prove that "he ain't nothing but a hound dog?" Elvis fanatics surely hope this movie has a happy ending because they sure don't want to be left "with a broken heart." Still, it is quite exciting to see Bana Mimic the King of Pop in his moves and performances.
