Channing Tatum’s “Magic Mike XXL” co-star Adam Rodriguez is one of the actors confirmed to be a part of “Empire” season 2 cast, reuniting with his former “I Can Do Bad All By Myself” co-star Taraji P. Henson.

“Empire” season 2, which is set to premiere on Sept. 23, just started its production and Rodriguez has offered a few teasers for die-hard fans of the Fox hit series created by Lee Daniels and Danny Strong.

In a recent interview with Latin Post, Rodriguez said he cannot wait to get started. He revealed that he will start shooting in August and his character named Larry Delgado will be introduced in “Empire” season 2 episode 5.

“Honestly, this is all I know so far,” Rodriguez said. “They are keeping everything really hush-hush. There are a lot of great surprises in store for the season. I won't know until I get my script and when we get closer to shooting.”

Rodriguez said what he is certain about is that he will play a politic promoter named Larry Delgado, 40, a smooth-talking New York native who used to be an EMT worker. The character will likely become a love interest of Cookie Lyon played by Henson.

In another interview with New York Post, Rodriguez talked about his role in the upcoming drama comedy “Magic Mike XXL,” in which he plays Tito. He said that there is a scene in the film featuring his character doing a strip routine to 50 Cent’s “Candy Shop.”

In that particular scene, which involves two aerosol canisters and a frothy blast of whipped cream, Rodriguez’s character calls some ladies up onstage and traces along their thighs with chocolate sauce.

According to Rodriguez, the dairy topping “shot out like a cannon” when they were filming the scene, which surprised everybody. He said the scene viewers will see in “Magic Mike XXL” was the very first take.

Joining Tatum and Rodriguez in the cast of “Magic Mike XXL,” which is set to hit theatres in the United States on July 1, are Joe Manganiello, Matt Bomer, Kevin Nash, Stephen Boss, Luke Broadlick, and “Live With Kelly and Michael” host Michael Strahan, among others.
