Following Emma Watson's empowering speech on gender equality at New York City, one 15-year old boy managed to pen the best letter about it. According to him, boys should listen to Emma Watson and that gender equality is definitely their issue too.

While a number of misogynists had reverted to slamming Watson by posting a nude photo leak hoax, one boy in particular had spoken up and defended Watson. Ed Holtom, a 15-year old boy, had sent a letter to the Sunday Telegraph urging boys to listen to Emma Watson because what she said about gender equality made perfect sense. An excerpt of Ed Holton's is as follows.

"If we really want equality we must all make an active decision to abandon phrases such as "what it means to be masculine" and the like. If we really want equality we must try our best to ignore gender and stop competing with one another. We must stop comparing ourselves to each other, particularly other people of the same gender, because that leaves us with a feeling of insecurity and self doubt."

The full letter may be found here. Ed Holton also posted the piece published on Sunday Telegraph on his Instagram account, which may be found here. To date, the post has garnered 106 likes and 20+ comments. Emma Watson however has yet to react to the amazing piece written in by Ed Holton. Aside from Emma Watson, Ed Holton was also inspired by Beyoncé and her fight for female empowerment.

As for Watson, the UN Women Goodwill Ambassador is currently pushing through with the "HeForShe" campaign. The campaign urges men to take part in the fight for gender equality. The latest male celebrity to show his support for the campaign was One Direction's Harry Styles.

Other celebrities who have taken part in Watson's "HeForShe" campaign include Tom Hiddleston, Logan Lerman, Douglas Booth, Chris Colfer, Emile Hirsch, Russell Crowe, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Simon Pegg and Peter Gallagher.
