“Rap God” rapper Eminem is known for his charity works and his “8 Mile” co-star Mekhi Phifer appears to be following suit. While busy filming for the upcoming TV series “Secret City” and the 2016 films “Asher” and “Pandemic,” Phifer is set to play poker for charity.

In collaboration with Commerce Casino in California, the One Step Closer Foundation (OSCF) will conduct its 10th annual charity poker tournament called All In for CP on Dec. 6. The foundation is a non-profit organisation that supports people who suffer from cerebral palsy.

For the first two hours, players can rebuy for $100 (AU $140). Those who finish among the final two tables will win $35,000 (AU $48,600) in prizes.

Along with the cash prizes, players will have the opportunity to play with well-known poker players and celebrities. Jamie Gold, Joe Cada, Dennis Phillips, Jennifer Tilly, Phil Laak and Michael “The Grinder” Mizrachi are among the professional poker players joining the event.

Aside from Phifer, other celebrity players include "Larry Gaye: Renegade Male Flight Attendant" actor Jason Alexander, former Playboy models Sara Underwood and Stacy Fuson and former WWE Diva Alicia Webb, according to Poker News. The event will be hosted by Montel Williams and Cheryl Hines.

Meanwhile, Phifer is set to play Ambassador Moreton in “Secret City.” The upcoming thriller TV series also stars Alex Dimitriades, Anna Torv, Jacki Weaver, Ferdinand Hoang, Max Brown, Kimie Tsukahoshi and Charles Wu, among others.

In 2002, Phifer starred in “8 Mile” as David "Future" Porter, the character is the rap battle host and the closest friend of Jimmy "B-Rabbit" Smith, Jr., a character played by Eminem. After “8 Mile,” he stared in several TV series including “Torchwood,” “Psych,” “White Collar” and “House of Lies” and in several films including “Divergent” and “Insurgent” opposite Shailene Woodley and Ansel Elgort. Elgort is set to star in “Billionaire Boys Club,” Variety reported.
