It’s already been halfway through the year and anticipation is running high on the release date of Eminem’s new album 2016. Meanwhile, Drake’s “Views” has overtaken “The Marshall Mathers LP’s” billboard records. For ninth week in a row, Drake’s “Views” hold the No. 1 on the Billboard 200 Chart, toppling the eight-week record of Eminem’s “The Marshall Mathers LP.”

This brings Drake’s “Views” on the level of Adele’s “21” and “24,” Taylor Swift’s “Fearless” and “1989,” and Disney’s Frozen Official Soundtrack, which spent at least nine weeks at the No. 1 spot of Billboard 200 chart.

On Twitter and Instagram, Marshall Bruce Mathers III recently promoted the updates on his mobile application called “Shady Wars” and endorsed James Franco’s new film “Why Him?” for which he wrote “Berzerk.” But the Grammy award-winning rap artist has yet to announce anything related to an album that fans are craving for since he released “The Marshall Mathers LP 2” in 2013.

Due to Eminem’s silence, various outlets reported rumours that “The Slim Shady LP” artist’s financial problems are stalling his new album release while some cited Eminem’s tight schedule as one of the reasons he cannot focus on his album. Eminem’s current engagements include writing original soundtracks for upcoming films such as “Suicide Squad.”

Earlier, Eminem was reportedly negotiating to be an executive producer and music supervisor of Paramount TV’s “Narc” series. Eminem has been tapped to write original songs as part of the series, whose movie adaptation is set in Detriot, Michigan where the rapper was born in Oct. 17, 1972.

Despite the delay, various media reports hinted Eminem’s new album will include a remastered version of his 2002 hit single “Lose Yourself,” which topped Billboard Hot 100 Chart for 12 weeks. However, the rapper has not confirmed either of the reports and rumours. Meantime, fans will continue to wait for Eminem's album release date and concert announcements.
