The bubbly US talk show host Ellen DeGeneres claimed that she is related to the beautiful Duchess of Cambridge.

DeGeneres shocks Lorraine Kelly and audience while promoting her new animated film “Finding Dory. There, she revealed in a quite frustrated (yet joking) manner that she and Kate Middleton are distant cousins.

“I am related to Kate Middleton. She refuses to acknowledge it. I don’t know why but I’m not invited to any of their holidays,” she says according to the Standard.

She then explains how she came to know of the relationship by stating “Someone did my charts, the lineage and she is my 14th cousin twice removed. It’s not like three times removed right?”

She also adds that she is also distantly related to Halle Berry and Madonna, which could explain the talk show host’s thespian and musical inclinations. DeGeneres is known for her numerous performing talents, which she gracefully displays on her talk show.

There, she is regularly seen not only interviewing popular people and upcoming talents, but also dancing and acting out short sketches. Not a big surprise that such talent runs in her blood.

Lorraine Kelly responded to this by showing DeGeneres a picture of the Royal Family, with her photoshopped into it. This might have lightened up Ellen’s frustration of not being recognized by them.

Just because you weren’t born and raised in the same place doesn’t mean that you can’t have royal blood. Power couple Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie, Johnny Depp, Paris Hilton are also some celebrities known to have royal blood, according to a report on EOnline.

DeGeneres gave her voice to Dory, the leading character in “Finding Dory.” This film is the long awaited sequel to the popular animated film shown way back in 2002 “Finding Nemo” and is produced by Pixar and Disney.

She says this sequel is a little tighter on the chest as fans can expect a little more sadness and depth, since the lead character will not always be happy in the movie. Such moments, however, are just tiny; little moments that ultimately add colour and make the movie more interesting.
