“Thinking Out Loud” singer Ed Sheeran, 24, recently took to Twitter to defend himself from those who criticise his decision to have a huge lion tattoo on his chest. The English singer and songwriter let his critics know that he will be having more tattoos in the future.

Sheeran also has several tattoos on both of his left and right arms, and each of his tattoos reportedly have a meaning behind it. For instance, the Heinz ketchup logo was tattooed on one of his arms as a sign of the start of his tour in Columbus, Ohio, in 2012, according to Hollywood Life.

In an interview with MTV News in 2013, Sheeran revealed the meaning of some of his tattoos. He explained that the Puss in Boots tattoo on his forearm was not in honour of Antonio Banderas who portrays the cat in the animated movies but as a tribute to his song “Wake Me Up” from his debut album titled “+.”

A portrait of Pingu the penguin is also tattooed on Sheeran’s triceps. The “Thinking Out Loud” singer said One Direction member Harry Styles has the same tattoo under his arm and the tattoos serve as their “bro tat.”

In addition, tattooed on Sheeran’s biceps is the word “Prince” in colourful green block letters, which he got while on tour in Philadelphia. The English musician said the tattoo on his biceps signifies his appreciation for the TV series “The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air.”

Created by Andy Borowitz and Susan Stevenson, “The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air” is about a Californian family taking in a street-smart teenager who is a relative from Philadelphia. The TV series starred Will Smith, James Avery, Alfonso Ribiero, Karyn Parsons, Tatyana Ali, Dahpne Reid, Janet Hubert, Ross Bagley, Jeffrey A. Townes and Joseph Marcell, among others.
