At the recently concluded SAG Awards, "Modern Family" star Ed O' Neil made an inappropriate comment at his young co-star Ariel Winter. After winning the award for Outstanding Comedy Ensemble, the cast of the show got together for a press conference. And when one of the journalists asked the female stars of the series that what beauty knowledge they picked up from their mothers, Ed said "Ariel should take this one."

Ariel separated from her mother in Nov. 2012, after the latter was charged for physically and emotionally abusing the "Modern Family" star. Since then Ariel has been living with her elder sister Shanelle Gray, who is now her legal guardian. In addition on Sept 13, Daily Mail.com reported that Ariel Winter's mother Chrystal Workman had accused the "Modern Family" star of sexually abusing her. According to the court documents Chrysal had made such allegations to keep Ariel's custody.

Apparently, Ariel has had a very disturbing childhood and Ed's joke was not something called for. However, Ariel did not react to Ed O' Neil's joke and smiled. Sofia Vergara, Sarah Hayland and Julie Bowen answered the question immediately to avoid the awkwardness.

Winter walked the red carpet at SAG awards with her sister Shanelle Gray and looked gorgeous in a cleavage bearing blue gown.

Winter also tweeted a photo of her and her sis the morning with a caption "Headed to the #SAGAwards2014 with my ❤️ @shanelle_gray #SAG #sisters," adding, "With my best friend @shanelle_gray ❤️ #sagawards2014 #sag."

Meanwhile, Sofia Vergara danced till night after winning the award. The actress looked scintillating in a metallic figure-hugging gown. The gown was made out of sequins and beads and accentuated Sofia's perfect curves.

Along with "Modern Family," "Breaking Bad" and "Dallas Buyers Club" also picked up their SAG trophies. "American Hustle" took the awards for the Best Film Ensemble and from the slew of wins it seems that the film is sure to win a lot of awards at this year's Oscars.

"Breaking Bad" took the award for Best Drama series, the third award this year after its win at Golden Globes and Emmy's.
