Ariana Grande reportedly skipped a charity event appearance scheduled in New York due to "rising Ebola threat." The singer was scheduled to perform for the charity purposes at the Big Apple but according to the sources she was scared of "catching Ebola."

The singer was one of the many celebrities who were invited to participate in the event organised by "Pencils of Promise," a non-profit origination which funds the needy children's education in Third World countries. However, buzz has it that Grande bailed out at the last minute, according to the reports by The Stir.

"Everybody got there and was waiting for her to arrive and she was also supposed to be a surprise musical guest. No one was told she wasn't coming," said the source according to Fashion & Style. However, the event organisers have blamed Grande's "busy schedule" for her non-appearance, according to further reports by the website. Moreover, Grande's rep is yet to comment on the "Ebola threat" rumours.

New York witnessed its first Ebola patient in the face of Dr. Craig Spencer. Since then three people who came in contact with him have been quarantined. Dr Spencer experienced Ebola Symptoms after returning from Guinea where he was treating the patients diagnosed with the fatal disease. Spencer's worked for Doctors Without Borders organisations and he made his return to NYC on Oct 17.

Meanwhile, in other news, Grande came together with a host of singers on Friday to perform for CBS Radio's "We Can Survive" concert at the Hollywood Bowl. She belted out her hit songs including "Problem" and "Bang Bang." Pharrell Williams, Alicia Keys, Iggy Azalea and Taylor Swift also performed.

"So many of these people, almost all of these people, I grew up being massive fans of, particularly Pharrell and Gwen and J.Lo," said Iggy about the concert to CBS2/KCAL9.

Along with the stupendous musical performances, the concert also had some dazzling fireworks on the display. The portion of the proceeds of the event would go for a charities namely "Living Beyond Breast Cancer" and "Young Survival Coalition."
