Melania Trump’s side addressed issues that she is miserable in her role as US first lady. According to her spokesperson, Stephanie Grisham, she continues her plans to serve as FLOTUS with integrity and dedication.

Grisham told the Huffington Post that Melania is an independent woman who believes in America. She also described US President Donald Trump’s spouse as a loving wife and mother whose priority is her family, and that would never change. Grisham’s statement comes after a source told Vanity Fair that Melania never had interest in being a first lady.

Amid reports that Melania is miserable, Twitter was flooded with #SaveMelania and #SadMelania hash tags. “She never wanted this, and never had any interest,” an unnamed source told Vanity Fair. But Grisham says, “Mrs. Trump has always been supportive of all her husband’s endeavours.”

Concerns about when Melania will move to the White House were also addressed. The White House said the FLOTUS will move to Washington at the end of her son’s, Barron, school year. Grisham said they are currently looking for a new school for Barron.

The East Wing spokeswoman also said the president has been very warm and supportive throughout his wife’s pregnancy. She described claims that the first couple is sleeping in separate bedrooms as fictional. US Weekly has reported that Melania and her husband have separate rooms in New York and at Mar-a-Lago.

As for Melania’s relationship with Ivanka, Grisham denied that the two have a frosty relationship. “Ivanka and Mrs. Trump have always shared a close relationship, and that continues today,” she said. Ivanka previously denied that she will be the real FLOTUS.

A Vanity Fair article titled “Inside the Trump Marriage: Melania’s Burden” have suggested Melania approached her role as first lady hesitantly. The article appears online, as well as in the magazine’s May 2017 issue. In an emailed statement to the Huffington Post, Grisham said Vanity Fair’s story was offensive. She accused the magazine of publishing a false story and one that is degrading to women. And when the fact that it is tailored for women is considered, Grisham said that is when it becomes even more offensive.

Earlier this month, Melania was spotted at the White House for Easter Egg Roll 2017. She was also present during Chinese president Xi Jinping and his wife’s visit and went to an all-girls charter school in Washington, D.C. with Queen Rania of Jordan.
