Electronic Arts has announced a DLC pack for the game priced at $50. Electronic Arts

Before “Star Wars Battlefront” was released, it was announced that the game will have free DLCs shortly after launch. The very first of the planned free content is coming soon and it's looking to prepare fans for the upcoming “Star Wars VII: The Force Awakens" as well.

Just recently, publisher Electronic Arts revealed more details on the upcoming DLC via the official website of “Star Wars Battlefront.” Players who preordered "Star Wars Battlefront" will get to play The Battle of Jakku DLC earlier on Dec 1. For everyone else, it will be available on Dec. 8. However, EA is far from finished with teasers of upcoming free content.

In total, there will be two new maps for “Star Wars Battlefront” coming on Dec. 1. These two maps will be based on the planet of Jakku, one of the areas in which the upcoming “Star Wars VII: The Force Awakens” is set in. However, EA noted that the Battle of Jakku takes place 29 years before the events of the next “Star Wars” film so fans shouldn’t be too concerned with spoilers.

EA also previewed the upcoming game mode that houses 40 players all in all. The new game mode, titled Turning Point, is a 20 vs 20 match wherein players have to choose a side, either with the Empire or the Rebel Alliance. As part of the Rebel Alliance, the player’s goal is to successfully capture and clear checkpoints before reaching the Empire’s base. If siding with the Empire, players will have to hold back the assault from the Rebels.

Just last Nov. 24, EA executive VP Patrick Söderlund teased through the Electronic Arts' official website that the Battle of Jakku DLC is just the first of many more free downloads of the game. He noted that the team is planning on releasing more content outside of the confirmed paid season pass.
