A 46-year-old Dutch named Ed Houben is entering record books as one of the most prolific men in modern history. As of last count, he sired 106 children.

Two-thirds of these kids were created the natural way – meaning he had sex with no strings attached the mothers of the children – and the rest with the help of modern science through artificial insemination. Houben is a full-time sperm donor.

GQ, which featured Houben in 2014, reports that the man, besides giving semen samples at the sperm bank, schedules when to inseminate several women at the time they are ovulating to ensure successful pregnancy. For his job that could be the envy of some males, Houben was called by the BBC as “Europe’s most virile man,” while media refers to him as the “Sperminator.”

Before he became a professional sperm donor, Houben was not much into sex which he did once every 10 years when he was younger. However, since it is part of his job, in the past decade and a half, he reckons he must have fathered 10 kids every year.

Gizmondo reports that Houben hardly knows most of his clients and their progeny, but he is willing to meet the kids if they want to see their biological father.

In his neighbourhood in Maastricht, Houben is known as the “babymaker.” He started his profession when he was 32. Before he became a sperm donor, Houben was a National Guard volunteer that his last sex was probably when he was 22.

The busy schedule made him realize chances of creating his own family is slim, so Houben initially began as a sperm donor at a clinic where he was paid for giving semen samples twice a month. Because of the impersonal nature of the transaction wherein he was just handed an empty cup that he is expected to return with sperm after a few minutes of solo sex, Houben advertised his service in Web sites and made the donation at the house of his clients instead of a cold clinic.

His first client was a female artist with a vasectomised partner. But because “she can’t imagine a happy child will be created from a 12-cent syringe,” they ask him to procreate the natural way. His first client insisted on the three of them being in bed during procreation, so Houben is now used to situations when there are three of them in the same bed, while only two create the baby.

That starting the ball rolling for the “Sperminator” who continues to sow his oats in Europe. He has set up a Web site (http://www.edhouben.eu/EdHoubenE/Index.htm) where he shares that “One day I hope to raise children myself with a woman, who I can love for a lifetime.”
