Dustin Johnson got a 2-shot penalty scores after arriving late to tee.

Had Johnson arrived 10 seconds later than he already was, the professional golfer would have been totally disqualified when he arrived late to the first tee in the Northern Trust Open Thursday.

Racing up the hill at Riviera, Golf writer, Doug Ferguson of the Associated Press said that Johnson came just in the nick of time before he would be kicked out of the tournament.

When asked, Johnson explained that he was given by his caddie of a different starting time than the scheduled first tee. He arrived late thinking the starting tee off was 8:12 a.m. as informed by his caddie, Bobby Brown and not the 7:32 a.m. schedule.

According to AP, Johnson par has turned into a double bogey, winding up with a 2-over 73 trail by six shots.

This is not the first penalty Johnson got in a tournament. AP said that he was given a two-shot penalty on the 18th hole of the PGA Championship when he grounded his club, not realizing that he was in a bunker. He was subsequently kept out of the playoff.
