Upcoming U.S. label Prabal Gurung needs to thank Kate Middleton for giving his brand a global exposure during their royal visit in Singapore.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are currently on a nine day tour of the Southeast Asia and the South Pacific. And while they make a visit to Singapore, Kate Middleton chose to wow in a silk purple and white floral dress made by the upcoming U.S. label Prabal Gurung.

Not only was it an edgy choice for The Duchess, but it also serves as her tribute to her Singaporean host since the designer was born in the city.

Together with The Duke of Cambridge, Kate met up with The President of the Republic of Singapore, Tony Tan and his wife Mary. The Southeast Asian visit is part of the Diamond Jubilee Tour.

The dress was also a step away from her preferred British designers including Alice Temperley, Jenny Packham and Alexander McQueen. Kate Middleton looked stunning in her distinct dress which she matched with black pumps and clutch.

Prabal Gurung launched his designs in New York in 2009. Slowly he became a favorite in the fashion scene and of the A-list. Kate's dress was part of the 2012 spring/summer collection which was modeled by Victoria's Secret angel, Candice Swanepoel, during the campaign.
