Sony's online multiplayer focused racing game "Driveclub" may have gone through a shaky and bug ridden launch, but that has been straightened out since with periodic patches adding stability and a host of new features. The PlayStation 4 exclusive game has received its third major update this year with the 1.14 patch.

"Driveclub's" official Facebook page has confirmed the massive update along with a whole laundry list of additions and fixes brought to the table. The colossal update weighs in at 2.69GB, thereby bringing in the cumulative size of all released patches to 9.85GB. However, the heft of the update is offset by the fact that it adds the most desirable hypercar in recent times – the Ferrari LaFerrari. Videogamer notes that the Ferrari hypercar can be unlocked only after players achieve Rank 5 of the Ferrari Owners Club Accolade.

The update also includes a beginner friendly mode called the Startline Tour, according to VG247. This enables new players to get accustomed to gameplay and controls by putting them through the paces in the new introductory mode. This includes 45 objectives spread across 11 events that teach new players the finer aspects of "Driveclub." The developer Evolution Studios touts the mode as a well-balanced introduction to popular events within the main game. That definitely seems like a great deal of quality content given away for free through the update.

The 1.41 patch also adds Multiplayer Race Replays that does just what the title suggests. This allows gamers to save replays at the end of any multiplayer race. The replays can then be viewed through the Replays menu. The audio settings now have the option to choose between foley effects recorded from the inside the cockpit or externally. That may sound nitpicky, but the orientation of the microphone makes a world of a difference to the engine notes, which constitutes a major aural experience.

The update also brings improvements to performance, stability and usability. Support for steering wheels is updated by adding the option to control steering lock rotation angle. This will come in handy for specialist racing wheels that allow higher degrees of rotation to emulate real steering wheels.

IGN reports that the developer is gearing up for the PlayStation Plus edition of the game by shoring up their servers farms. It seems the Evolution Studios is keen on ensuring a smoother online experience and prevent the launch eve debacle of the game. The update notes also reveal that it is a precursor to a raft of paid DLCs schedule to be released for the game. This includes the Turbocharged Car Pack and Turbocharged Tour Pack, which add a large number of new cars and events.
