Live Science is reporting that the lake that turned red could mean one less popular fishing and recreation spot in Texas, United States and not the “End of Times”.

A part of the OC Fisher Reservoir in San Angelo State Park in West Texas has turned red, causing alarm to various sectors particularly the religious group. It has prompted believers that the red lake is an apocalyptic warning.

But science has put things in another perspective and explained that the recent phenomenon is a result of a drought, leaving the lake almost dry and the last of the waters in the once-breathtaking body of water – but now full of dead fish - became stagnant and turned into a deep, opaque red.

Check out the dramatic and amazing images of the red lake in West Texas.
