Archer sub-class returns on "Dragon Age Inquisition" under the Rogue class similar on "Dragon Age Origins" and "Dragon Age 2." Know the four abilities revealed by BioWare and class advancement via Rogue specialisations.

Archer Sub-class Of Rogues

Back in "Dragon Age Origins" and "Dragon Age 2," players can choose the focus of Rogue characters on using bows and arrows instead of wielding dual-dagger weaponry. BioWare confirmed via Twitter that the sub-class Archer returns under the Rogue class with the similar specialisations from the previous game titles. Here are four abilities of Archery unveiled by BioWare:

1. Long Shot - Fires a powerful single shot to deliver more damage the farther the distance between the archer and the target

2. Leaping Shot - Lets the player escape from a fight and fire a hail of arrows to enemies trying to close in on him

3. Explosive Shot - Fires a powerful shot that deals damage to nearby enemies upon impact

4. Full Draw - Deals devastating damage with a single shot on an enemy which have not been injured yet

Basics And Possible Advancements For Archers

Based on the details at the official site of "Dragon Age Inquisition," elves can be the main choice for archers due to the 25 percent Ranged Defence that gives advantage on ranged combat. Humans are also another best choice as a race for archers due to a bonus ability point upon the start of the game. Dwarves and the Qunari do not feature any direct influence to the combat style of archers--25 percent Magic Defence and 10 percent Melee Defence, respectively.

For class advancements, BioWare did not mention any limitations for archers on choosing specialisation. Archers can become an Artificer, an Assassin or a Tempest with varying degree of combat style:

- Artificers use deadly traps and explosive mines to take control over the battlefield.

- Assassins kill targets one by one by dealing quick devastating attacks then slide back to the shadows undetected.

- Tempests are expert on alchemical mixtures that can cause cold or fire effects.
