"Dragon Age Inquisition" game developer BioWare uploaded via Twitter the available classes and abilities expected to be played by gamers soon. In addition, weaponry types playable among these classes have been exposed as well, detailing combat strategies against enemies.

Warrior Class Abilities And Gameplay

Warrior class on "Dragon Age Inquisition" can use two weapon sets depending on the ideal combat strategy of the player. A warrior can use either a two-handed weapon style for maximum offence or wield a combination of a sword and a shield for a balanced defensive and offensive technique.

According to a tweet from @dragonage, wielding both sword and shield will allow the use of four abilities which are Lunge and Slash, Payback Strike, Shield Bash and Shield Wall. In "Dragon Age 2," Shield Bash is a skill under Weapon and Shield to batter opponents with the shield, while Shield Wall is the upgrade of Shield Defence on the same talent tree. Lunge and Slash and Payback Strike are new abilities.

If the warrior decides on full offensive strategy, Earthshaking Strike, Mighty Blow and Whirlwind Strike are all available to defeat opponents easily using two-handed weapons but sacrifices the defence offered by wielding a shield. Mighty Blow and Whirlwind Strike are skills under Two-Handed talent in "Dragon Age 2."

Rogue Class Abilities And Gameplay

Rogues are skills in stealth and quick blows to eliminate enemies but lack the certain endurance known among warriors. A Twitter post by @dragonage only revealed the dual-wielding of rogues and it is yet to see about handling bows and arrows combatry. In "Dragon Age 2," players can choose between Archery or Dual Weapon talent to enable the use of respective weaponry.

So far, rogues focused on Double Daggers in "Dragon Age Inquisition" can access Twin Fangs, Flank Attack and Deathblow. Twin Fangs already appeared on "Dragon Age 2." This enables the rogue to use both blades to deal critical damage on the target and can be upgraded further by selecting Reversed Grip. Using bows and arrows is a talent type called Archery in the previous game, allowing the rogue to hit enemies from a distance. Rogues focused on this talent can shower arrows to an area, pin down targets and even inflict disorienting blows.

Mage Class Abilities And Gameplay

So far, mages in "Dragon Age Inquisition" use staves as primary weaponry, and combat style relies heavily on magic. A tweet by @dragonage only confirmed the usual elemental attacks of a mage such as Flashfire, Winter's Grasp, Mind Blast and Lightning Bolt, with the latter three already found on "Dragon Age 2."

In the previous game, mages have several talents depending on the chosen mastery. Elemental focused on fire and ice, Primal for earth and sky, Spirit to counter enemy mages, Arcane to tap the powers of the Fade, Creation to heal wounds and support party members, and Entropy to cause chaos on targets are possible choices.

However, BioWare has not yet unveiled specialisation of mages in "Dragon Age Inquisition," which is an interesting combat strategy. A mage in "Dragon Age 2" can become a Blood Mage by using blood in dangerous spells, a Force Mage by defying the laws of nature to crush and toss enemies or a Spirit Healer by utilising positive energy to heal and resurrect allies.

At this time, there are other several specialisations that offer different combat styles found in "Dragon Age Origins" such as Arcane Warrior, Ranger and Spirit Warrior, which can make "Dragon Age Inquisition" interesting, if they are made available for the franchise.
