Meet Doug Pitt, an ordinary fellow whose life is a stark contrast to the livin-it-up ways of his world-famous Hollywood A-lister older brother Brad Pitt. This is what the Australian service provider Virgin Mobile points out in its 'fair go' campaign.

The Virgin Mobile ad seems to be sending the message that a phone subscription could give Doug a fair go. But how did it do?

Doug Pitt: Was it a fair go?

If you talk about a fair go, two minutes of long awkwardness does not seem to be the right thing to show. It was a hilarious ad for the wrong reasons.

Still, the video gave Doug more than just 15 minutes of fame.

It was the first commercial campaign for the younger Pitt, but unless he could be seen in a more relaxed demeanor, he should stay away from the cameras.

Doug was born in 1966. He is a photojournalist, who is also involved in humanitarian efforts. It is difficult to speculate on what convinced Doug to star in an ad. It seems like his hands are full doing much cooler things that the ad did not show.

Brad Pitt took his younger brother to the red carpet for "Oceans Twelve." They did turn heads for the not-so-uncanny resemblance. Brad then said he and his brother were pretty close. For his part, Doug says people mistake him for Brad at least three times a week even up to now.

However, news readers pointed out he looked more like Zach Braff.

A week into the campaign, Doug Pitt has gathered six thousand 'likes' at the Virgin Mobile landing page for the ad. He is apparently two phases away from being a legit "CeleBro."

So here are the bits: A YouTube clip uploaded on June 27. Over 320 thousand views. A call to action to visit a webpage and 'like' Doug. Six thousand likes. Seven days. Did the Virgin mobile ad succeed in its "fair go" for Doug?
