Klei Entertainment’s hit game “Don’t Starve” will be getting another expansion that could see players exploring the seas of the game’s dangerous world. The expansion dubbed, “Shipwrecked,” is being co-developed by Super Time Force Studios.

The expansion was announced last July 31 on the website of Klei Entertainment. Along with the announcement was a short video which depicts one of the game’s characters, Wilson, on a small boat battling strong winds and waves on what looks like a large body of water. This is the first time that the character is seen outside the massive land of the game, as the water served as a map boundary for the base game. Aside from being able to traverse the seas, the expansion will also bring with it some new characters, biomes, creatures and seasonal effects.

Klei has not given any further details from the upcoming expansion but it will be released to PCs this fall. Klei founder Jamie Cheng said to Eurogamer that they are currently focusing on the PC version of the expansion. It is worth noting that the previous expansion of “Don’t Starve”, Reign of Giants, was released to consoles after being launched for the PC.

Just recently, “Don’t Starve” launched on the Xbox One, making it playable on major consoles along with the PS4 and Wii U. It is also playable on handheld devices such as the PS Vita and iPad. With Klei’s enthusiasm of porting the game to a wide range of devices, players could see the release of the new expansion outside of PCs.

“Don’t Starve” has had two expansions since its release. The first was the “Reign of Giants,” expansion pack which included a slew of new features, including new materials, characters and four giant bosses that appear each season. After that, Klei released a stand-alone multiplayer version of the game dubbed, “Don’t Starve Together,” which allows four players to play with or against each other.
