The Trump Hotel Collection, Donald Trump's luxury hotel chain, was recently victimised by hackers. Reports say that the credit or debit card details of the hotels' customers may have been compromised.

Everyone was made aware -- especially the hotel's usual clients -- about the hack through the company's official website. The cyberattack could potentially affect clients who, at some point, used their credit or debit cards during their stay in the hotel, said a post by the hotel's management and legal team. The statement from the management says that clients at risk are those who checked in from May 19, 2014 to June 2, 2015, as reported by Tech Times.

The hotels specifically affected by the cyberattack were Trump International Hotel & Tower Las Vegas, Trump International Chicago, Trump International Waikiki, Trump International New York, Trump National Doral in Miami, Trump International Toronto and Trump SoHo New York.

Brian Kebs, a known cybersecurity journalist, first reported the hack that victimised hotel guests by stealing their credit card details. He released the report in July, but it was only recently that Trump Hotel Collection officially confirmed the report.

The data security notice posted on the hotel chain's official website says that a forensic investigation has been launched by an independent body. Investigators, however, haven’t officially determined if private finance details were indeed stolen from the hotels' card payment system.

The malware that enabled the data breach has reportedly been removed from the hotel's system. Now, Trump Hotel Collection is said to be making some adjustments to its networks, specifically for added security.
