According to the Huffington Post, the do a barrel roll Google trick is one of coolest things the search engine has ever done.

"With its interactive doodles and insanely large pumpkins, Google is known for being whimsical, but "do a barrel roll" might just take the cake," wrote the Huffington Post in their report about the do a barrel roll Google trick.

The do a barrel roll Google trick was inspired by the 1997 Nintendo videogame "Star Fox 64." It is a 3D scrolling shooter videogame that allows players to control vehicles and shoot at their enemies. The vehicles can also spin in the air and do a barrel roll by pressing the letter Z or R twice when Peppy Hare, a space pilot rabbit who is a character in the game, says it.

The popular Google Easter egg inspired a lot of funny memes featuring large ships, animals, humans and other vehicles doing a barrel roll or at least trying to do a barrel roll and failing miserably.
