Kids and kids at heart rejoice with this big news from Disney. Now that Disney's Movies Anywhere app is available in iOS and Android, you can now enjoy your favorite Disney movies in both Apple and Google platforms. The app will also allow users to buy any Disney, Pixar and Marvel Universe movie on Google Play and making it available on iOS and vice versa.

Looking back, the app made its entry as an iOS exclusive last February 2014. The app supports free streaming of any Disney, Pixar and Marvel video that was purchased from Apple's iTunes store. Among the 450 movies you bought using the app would register and appear as purchased inside iTunes store, iDownloadblog reports.

Recently, Disney's Movies Anywhere app was made available for Android devices. The well-known app can now be downloaded in Google Play, which allows streaming of any previously purchased digital version of any Disney pictures. This is good news for those of you who bought the films from iTunes, Blu-Ray/DVD or Google Play for you can still enjoy watching the movies. The Disney app is also Chromecast ready, which means you can stream directly to your TV sets with Google's stick or using your new Nexus Player.

For those of you who are not too familiar on how the app works, first you have to create your personal account in the company's web portal or inside the Disney app. After that, you can now add your previous digital purchases to your account. With the app, problems of platform lock-in are removed, which means the movies you bought from iTunes can be viewed on your Android tablet. Purchases made on either platform are locked to your Google or Apple account, PCWorld reports.

Going cross platform makes this Disney app very enticing. According to Engadget, tie-ups with Amazon or Ultraviolet are still to be confirmed. Such partnerships will broaden the advantages of having the movie app.

Expect that your Android or iOS powered smartphones or tablets will be very busy. Your kids or friends or even you, yourself, will be glued to your screens with Disney's Movies Anywhere app.
