Loki’s (Tom Hiddleston) story may have ended in the movies, but the character will be back in a new TV series. New limited series shows are currently begin developed with Hiddleton and Elizabeth Olsen (Scarlet Witch) reprising their roles.

In order to better compete against Netflix, Disney is coming out with new original content for its direct to consumer streaming service. According to a report by TheHollywoodReporter, a big part of the strategy to lure customers into this streaming service is to exclusively provide content from Pixar, Marvel and Lucasfilms.

Disney has already announced that it will be producing four to five original movies for its streaming service. Now, it has added new TV series to that list.

New Marvel limited TV series will reportedly be produced for the streaming service. Characters like Loki and Scarlet Witch will get their own show.

The return of Loki in a TV series should be particularly significant for Hiddleton fans. The character is not expected to return in the upcoming final “Avengers” movie, so his fun adventures in a prequel series should be exciting for the fans.

Readers should note that Disney is still planning to get Hiddleton and Olsen to reprise their roles, and nothing has been finalised as of this writing. The writers for the TV series also haven’t yet been selected, so it may be a while before the fans get to hear anything about the actually development of the shows and the filming.

If Disney’s plans materialise, it’s streaming service may become a big name in the streaming service industry. With franchises like “Star Wars,” which in itself is huge with all the movies and TV shows, and other projects from Pixar and Marvel; the streaming service may become a must have for the fans.

The untitled “Avengers 4” film is set to be released on May 3, 2019 in the US.
