Disney has confirmed plans to release “Frozen 2” after weeks of speculating by fans. Disney also released the song featured on the "Frozen"-related short, "Frozen Fever."

Even though it has been speculated for quite a while that there would be “Frozen 2” considering how well it did since its release, it is only now that Disney finally confirmed the news. Fans around the world can rejoice to see Anna, Elsa, Olaf and other more noteworthy characters in their movie screens again.

“Jennifer Lee and Chris Buck have come up with a great idea for a sequel and you will be hearing a lot more about it and we’re taking you back to Arendelle,” Disney announced on a shareholder meeting Thursday. Fans would certainly have a new set of songs to dance and sing along to. Many of the songs from the original "Frozen" film are still favourites until today.

Kristen Bell, who lent her voice for the character of Anna, is also beyond excited with the sequel news. She took to Twitter to share her happiness, posting a picture of her fake napping on a bag of ice to emphasise her point that dreams do come true.

Disney, however, still has not provided a release date or a definite plot line for the sequel. Those who could not wait, however, can flock to the cinemas to see the animated short “Frozen Fever,” which is shown ahead of Disney film “Cinderella.” Even though it would be just for seven minutes, fans can still see the whole cast of the original blockbuster come together on this short film. “We enjoyed making 'Frozen Fever' so much and being back in that world with those characters,” John Lasseter, Chief Creative Officer of Walt Disney and Pixar Animation Studios, said.

In related news, Disney just released “Making Today a Perfect Day,” the song featured on the animated short. The song features Idina Menzel and Kristen Bell singing as Queen Elsa and Princess Anna as they prepare for a grand birthday celebration for Anna. The cuteness factor is elevated by the fact that Elsa is also nursing a nasty cold.
