Xiaomi's Mi3, Mi4 and Mi Pad apart, the company is experiencing a streak of luck with its latest phablet, the Redmi Note. Apparently, the company opened its flash-sale window for Xiaomi Redmi Note in India quite recently. And as it turns out, the 50,000 designated units were sold out within six seconds.

Considered as one of the inexpensive phablets in the market, the Xiaomi Redmi Note is priced at only 8,999 INR that roughly translates to US$145, AU$173 and 92 GBP, says GSM Arena. As far as the key specification goes, the 3G/4G variant of the Redmi Note features a 5.5-inch IPS LCD display and 720 x 1,280 pixels screen resolution. This phablet comes with a thickness of 9.5 mm and it weighs 199 g. Under the hood, the handset is powered by an octa-core (Mediatek MT6592) Cortex-A7 processor, clocked at 1.7 GHz and houses 2 GB of RAM. It is worth noting that, there is also a 4G variant of the Redmi Note and that is powered by a quad-core (Qualcomm Snapdragon 400) SoC, clocked at 1.6 GHz.

On the software side, the Redmi handset runs on Android OS v4.2 (Jelly Bean) with MIUI v5 skin on top of it. When it comes to memory, the device comes equipped with 8 GB of internal storage capacity, along with microSD card support for expansion up to 32 GB, whereas the 4G variant can expand up to 64 GB. While the 4G variant is a single-SIM device, the 3G variant supports dual-SIM. Needless to say, the SIM configuration could be a deal-breaker for many buyers.

Moving on to the camera specification, the Redmi Note sports an impressive 13 MP rear-facing unit with LED flash and HDR. In addition, there is a 5 MP snapper unit at the front for selfie-enthusiasts. Lastly, the entire configuration is held together by a killer 3,200 mAh battery unit.

Furthermore, the Xiaomi Redmi Note 4's 4G variant is priced at 9,999 INR, which roughly translates to US$161, AU$192 and 103 GBP. And this LTE variant is expected to hit the store shelves towards the mid of December, specific to India, says NDTV.
