When Amy Winehouse first arrived in the U.S. in 2006, people loved not only her soul music from the 1960s. The public also embraced her signature hairstyle the singer had adopted from that era - - the beehive.

The singer said in an interview with Vogue that she had ‘an emotional connection’ with her beehive as the height of her poufy mane is relative to the intensity of her emotion.

But it was not all beehive for the singer. Check out the photos below.

The singer, who has recently been reported wanting to have children as her last wish was apparently in the middle of an adoption process before she died.

The “Back to Black” hitmaker was found dead in her North London home on July 23. She was 27.
