Atletico Madrid manager Diego Simeone is nearing an agreement with the club for a contract extension. The 44 year old manager’s current deal is good until the 2017 season but with the recent success of the squad, extending it would be the wise move for the Spanish club and Simeone’s agent is confirming that there are talks between Simeone and the squad.

“The truth is we are going to have good news in the coming days. If the Atletico fans are happy today, they will be even happier in the next few days.” Natalia Someone, who is Diego Simeone’s sister and agent, said during an interview on a Spanish television show on Tuesday. Diego Simeone would’t confirm of any contract extension but admitted that a deal is “not closed” and that they have to wait for a few more days before announcing anything.
