There's high drama surrounding the viral video that depicted a troll deleting a couple of high-level characters belonging to an 11-year-old child's "Destiny" account. The plot just got thicker when the man accused of making the young gamer weep on the video claimed that he wasn't responsible for the dastardly act.

Last week, a young gamer using he handle Cuckooknight HD, later identified as Henry, had invited a total stranger going by the PSN ID KirmitTHEfrog to help him with Bungie's multiplayer FPS "Destiny" according to Gamespot. Henry had used PS4's SharePlay feature to invite Kirmit for his expertise on leveraging an in-game glitch that allowed quicker levelling up of player characters. The feature allows PS4 owners to surrender full control to other users remotely usually for gameplay assistance.

In the video footage, Henry can be heard wandering away from his PS4 leaving it unsupervised. Kirmit then jumps on the opportunity to permanently wipe out two high-level characters. Henry doesn't realise this until he returns to find Kirmit stealing a weapon. Eventually the child can be heard sobbing as he discovers that the troll has succeeded in destroying hundreds of hours of effort invested in levelling up the characters.

The incident spread quickly through forums and video comments; with the vast majority of commenters openly calling for Kirmit's to be punished, sometimes through violent means. The man behind the trolling incident has allegedly received scores of threats through the PSN ID. His prompted Kirmit's mother to contact Game Informer and state her son's innocence.

The 23-year-old man and his mother's identities haven't been revealed considering the threats that have been coming their way ever since the incident. According to his mother, Kirmit was recently involved in vehicular accident and was convalescing under bed rest. She claims that her son's PS4 was being used by his friends while he had been sleeping most of the day. Allegedly, one of those visitors had used his PSN account to commit the act of trolling.

"At the beginning of November, [my son] was hit by another driver head-on; the next couple of months he spent time recouping and finally returning to work where he spends a great deal of time to make up for lost wages and bills that piled up," wrote Kirmit's mother in an email to Game Informer. "His PlayStation was sitting there, kids played games, others watched movies; no one assumed one of them was 'having a good time' at my son's expense."

There's no conclusive proof showing that Kirmit's account was indeed used by someone else to commit the mischief. However, Game Informer has discovered police records proving that Kirmit was indeed involved in a car crash. The 23- year-old has since spoken to the publication expressing his exasperation due to the stress that the incident and the subsequent repercussions have caused him.
