"Destiny" gamers were reportedly able to access a free gameplay inside the Terminus. This content was supposedly intended to be released with "The Dark Below" DLC. Recently, Bungie hinted the leak was intentional but claimed the gameplay is not the finished content that will be featured in the upcoming expansion.

According to Gamespot, some "Destiny" gamers managed to get inside the Terminus. Others were reportedly also able to access some unfinished parts of the game, something that wasn't supposedly accessible until the release of The Dark Below DLC.

In an interview with Eurogamer, Bungie president Harold Ryan explained the reason behind this. "There's a bunch of shared-world content we've shipped on the disc specifically to limit download sizes for people. Both inside the US and all over the world, how much you download on your local home internet connection can be a problem, and even how much storage space it takes up on your console," he said.

The contents accessed by "Destiny" gamers are reportedly shared by Bungie "across all the activities in the game." Harold Ryan claimed players may from time to time see some items in unlocked areas. According to him, these items are pieces that Bungie supposedly built and shipped ahead of time prior to the release of The Dark Below DLC. However, while these can be accessed or even utilised, Ryan confirmed they are in no means representing the finished DLC. He said in the interview the items are not the "finished experiences or even the finished content."

"Destiny" gamers who go into these activities or experiences may supposedly get the feeling that it's the finished content; that it's something that's already been created for the upcoming The Dark Below DLC. However, Ryan added that most of the contents in the game were built long after the main game was done, as in the case of Eris, the new character in The Dark Below DLC that will send players on new missions.

According to Ryan, Eris was built over the last three months. Some contents inside the game including Eris' story and other The Dark Below activities and bosses were all made and polished after "Destiny" was shipped.
