Dell has unveiled Chromebook 13 primarily aimed at business users who require all-day battery life and high performance. The company claims it to be a secure, powerful, affordable and easy to use device that can be used both in office and on location. It provides customers with an unparalleled Chrome experience.

Dell announced its first premium professional Chromebook13 which offers business-ready solution. It incorporates features required by enterprise users. The Chromebook 13 sports a 13.3inch Full HD display which is available in touch and non-touch (anti-glare) versions, protected by Corning Gorilla Glass. It offers a choice of processors up to 5th generation Intel Core i5 CPUs, ensuring high class performance.

The Chromebook 13 runs on the Google Chrome operating system and provides users with manageability and security software and applications that are built for business users. It is designed for today’s on the go lifestyle with up to 8GB of system memory and 12-hour battery life.

“Our latest Chromebook offering is designed for the mobile professional, and provides customers with an unrivalled Chrome experience which mixes the cost and simplicity benefits of Google’s chrome portfolio with Dell’s commitment to design,” said Kirk Schell, vice president and general manager, commercial client solutions, Dell. “Not only does the solution offer customers a superior mobile working experience, but with the availability of Dell’s leading security, management and ProSupport Plus service, it is also easy to integrate into wider device ecosystems.”

Built with Intel Celeron Core i3 and i5 processors, the Chromebook 13 features a carbon fiber cover, backlit keyboard, precision touchpad, high scratch resistance display with and Corning Gorilla Glass touch solution and a 720-pixel HD video webcam. The Chromebook 13 also includes an exceptional Google Hangout experience with the full high definition IPS display and dual array microphones with integrated stereo speakers.

According to Tech Radar, unlike competitors like HP and Acer, Dell is taking a more niche approach to capture the market. Dell's Chromebook 11 was aimed at students. The users of the Chromebook 11 will surely miss the spill-resistant keyboard in the newly launched Chromebook 13, which is targeted at the professionals.

In 2011, Google initiated the Chrome OS-based Chromebooks which are mainly designed to run on the cloud and the internet. The Dell Chromebook 13 will go on sale from 17 Sept. in the US and Canada at a price of $399 (AU $540).
