Whether Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine will once again come face to face with Wade Wilson in “Deadpool” is still uncertain. Very few production details have been revealed so far about the film. However, if lead star Ryan Reynolds were to choose, he would definitely want Wolverine to have a cameo appearance.

Australia’s News.com caught up with Ryan Reynolds while he was promoting his new film “Woman In Gold.” When asked whether Wolverine will have a cameo appearance in “Deadpool,” Reynolds said, “God I hope so, that would be really nice.”

The actor said fans may just have to wait and see if Wolverine will pop up in the film since Hugh Jackman is also willing to be in “Deadpool.” “It seems like he’s open to it, but it’s gonna be more of a scheduling issue than anything else,” Reynolds added.

Hugh Jackman also seemed to hint his involvement in the film during an interview with MTV UK back in March. The actor tried to dodge answering the question on whether Wolverine will have a cameo appearance in “Deadpool.” Instead, Jackman revealed how he’s good friends with Ryan Reynolds and also vouched for the actor as being the perfect person to play Deadpool. “He’s a brilliant actor and he will nail that,” he said.

However, in the end Hugh Jackman said that he’d be happy to work again with Ryan Reynolds in “Deadpool. “ They [Wolverine and Deadpool] are definitely enemies in the comics, and they always spark off well together, so I’d be open to that idea,” he added.

However, as what Ryan Reynolds pointed out, scheduling conflict may the only thing keeping Hugh Jackman from making a cameo appearance in “Deadpool.” According to Slashfilm, Jackman is currently busy shooting “X-Men: Apocalypse” in Montreal, while production for “Deadpool” is in Vancouver. The actor reportedly has “The Greatest Showman on Earth” and Wolverine 3” lined up after that, which makes finding time to do “Deadpool” seems difficult.

Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine first met Ryan Reynolds’ Deadpool in the 2009 film “X-Men: Origins,” where Reynolds debuted the character. Since then the two actors have become close friends. But whether their friendship would lead to another joint project in “Deadpool” is still uncertain. Although, according to Comicbook it wouldn’t be a surprise if Wolverine does end up having a cameo appearance in the film since in the Marvel comics, both characters have intertwining backstories.
