As growing numbers of young people in China immerse themselves in the cyber world, spending hours playing games online, worried parents are increasingly turning to boot camps to crush addiction. When “Dead or Alive 5” debuted on consoles, it was considered a return to form for the series, thanks to a better fighting system and colourful graphics. Sadly, the same thing can’t be said for the PC version that just came out, as the title is reportedly missing some key features that are in the console versions of the game.

One feature that hasn’t been added yet may irritate fans of the fighting game genre, as online multiplayer will not be readily available for the PC version of “Dead or Alive 5.” Kotaku stated that fans that are waiting for online multiplayer would have to wait three whole months before the feature arrives.

Another odd omission is the lack of achievements. Considering how popular achievements are in all platforms of gaming, it could be considered jarring as to why this, of all things, was removed from the PC version of the game as well. This “Dead or Alive 5” port also has no Steam Cloud support, nor does it have rumble features for PC gamepads. Two stages, the Danger Zone and the Crimson, have been removed altogether from the PC version as well.

However, it seems that game publisher Koei Tecmo was aware that the game would be criticised for its lack of features. According to Eurogamer, the game is available for a 10 percent discount until certain features, like the online multiplayer, are fixed.

Now to be fair, Koei Tecmo and developer Team Ninja have apparently been upfront about how the PC version of “Dead or Alive 5” would be different from its console brethren. At the same time though, many have begun to ask why the companies would even bother releasing a port for the PC version if it’s just going to be shoddy and missing a good number of features.

Various fan complaints have also been made on the official Steam page, from the missing features mentioned above to the fact that the game is based on the PlayStation 3 version rather than the PlayStation 4 port. Though changes are being made to appease fans, it seems like the damage has been done.
