There has been little news about the future of DayZ Standalone since the v0.42 came a couple of weeks ago. Now, the silence has been finally broken from the head of the DayZ Standalone dev team blog.

It appears that some big changes are on its way as according to Dean Hall via his update on the official DayZ dev Tumblr, the team expects to introduce changes over the next few weeks. Similar to previous updates, the new features will begin on DayZ Standalone's experimental server hive then it will make the transition to the stable side.

The DayZ Standalone v0.42.116181 was released in March by Bohemia Interactive. The update came with improved character animations, brand new villages outside Svetlo and rain clouds to Chernarus. Soon players will be able to light flammable objects at will, which will allow them to make camp and prepare food in various places.

The next DayZ Standalone experimental update will also come with physics and basic framework for power attacks which will let players to increase the strength in throwing items and firing an arrow. Basically, the expansions in the physics engine will lead to ragdoll animations for players and animals alike.

Players familiar to the map of Chernarus will be glad to know that there will be another town to be added to the DayZ Standalone's only existing game environment. Additional objects will be included in the game such as P1 pistol, DayZ Standalone's first SMG and AKM assault rifle, according to Hall. Many of these additions will appear in Karmanovka when it will be added to the existing town later this month.

Apart from all of these changes, the DayZ Standalone dev team claimed that it has created an efficient means of facilitating server-client communications, which will end the existing 100-player server limitation of the game.

Thus far, although Hall didn't go much into detail about the new system, the announcement is good news for those who think that the 100-person servers limit player interaction in the game.
