There are a number of huge changes that will occur on “Days of Our Lives” in the next few months. The only remaining soap opera on NBC had to undergo a quick change in direction to save the show.

Soap Opera Digest exclusively reports that “Days of Our Lives” has been struggling in the past years to continue running. There are various character exits and reintroductions to be made in the following months to keep the TV show fresh and hopefully keep the show fresh and relatable for fans. Executive producer Ken Cordray shared that he realized that the show was experiencing problems and needed a fast change in direction to be saved.

“The show I was looking at was no longer recognizable as Days of Our Lives to me. We had to jettison stories that were not going over well with the audience and we had to give characters on the show who were recognizable and powerful more story. But most importantly, we had to, for the 50th anniversary, months after and before, give viewers what they wanted to see,” Cordray told Soap Opera Digest.

WeLoveSoaps writes that in July 13, Abigail reacted to news of her pregnancy. Nicole confronted Serena, Daniel became suspicious of Victor’s information and J.J. finds Kyle hitting on Paige. On Tuesday, Eric revealed that he is in love with Nicole. Abigail tries to determine through Kayla whether Chad or Ben is the father of her baby. Thursday will feature Nicole worrying about Serena learning about the truth. Eve reconsiders her plans of revenge. On July 17, Chad will discover why Stefano wants him to be with Abigail. Adrienne and Justin will also reminisce about their relationship.

Some of the cast members who will be exiting from the show include True O’Brien, who plays Paige Larsen, writes WeLoveSoaps.net. The show’s new head writing team will consist of Dena Higley and Josh Griffith, and they will commence work late in the summer and fall. Other characters that are said to exit “Day of Our Lives” in the following months include Paul Telfer, Melissa Archer, Freddie Smith, Terrell Ransom Jr, Riley Bodenstab, Lauren Boles, Daniel Cosgrove and Alisha Boe. James Read and Shawn Christian are also rumoured to exit soon.
