Daytime Confidential reveals that four actors may potentially be leaving “Days of Our Lives” soon. The recent spoilers hinted that the soap may be writing off four cast members, namely Belle (Martha Madison), Summer (Marie Wilson), Shawn (Brandon Beemer) and Lani (Sal Stowers). Reportedly, Ryan Quan and Dena Higley were behind the decision to axe the cast formed by Higley’s former co-head writer Josh Griffin.

Shawn and Belle Brady returned for the 50th anniversary of “DOOL” in 2015. Jason Cook initially reprised the role of Shawn, but was replaced by Beemer. When Belle leaves the show, Dr. Marlena Evans (Deidre Hall) will no longer have any onscreen children in Salem. Stowers was the only black female with a contract on the show. If the actress leaves, some viewers may complain about the lack of diversity on the NBC soap.

“Days of Our Lives” airs on weekdays on NBC.
