Patrika Darbo, who used to play Nancy Wesley on “Days of Our Lives,” is disappointed over not being part of the lineup for the soap’s upcoming 50th anniversary special on Sunday, Nov. 8.

In her heyday, Darbo was one of the most renowned alumni of the long-running soap and was even named one of “TV Guide’s Sexiest Stars” in August 1999. In an interview with Soap Central, Darbo was asked about her new role in the upcoming series, “The Grass Is Always Greener.” She also shared sentiments about not being invited to return for the 50th Anniversary of “Days Of Our Lives.”

“They haven't approached me, and my feelings were hurt. I thought I did a good job, and I would have thought they'd at least ask Kevin and I to come back. I think Nadia [Bjorlin, Chloe Lane] is coming back again to do something. We were the start of her big dynasty, so it always hurts your feelings a little bit that you're not asked back,” Darbo tells Soap Central.

Darbo laughing added, “But you know what? That's business. The business has changed, they're moving the show forward, and we don't have a slot in it. It doesn't make me feel any less about my feelings being hurt, but I'll get over it!”

The actress also shared that she is grateful for the opportunity to be on “Days Of Our Lives.” She said that she received an Emmy nomination because of it. Darbo even revealed that she loved working with the people on “Days.” If they asked her to return to the show, she would have happily agreed.

A few stars have been confirmed to reappear on the show. Soap Opera Digest reveals that Stephen Nichols and Peter Reckell are set to come back to Salem. Stephen played Steve “Patch” Johnson, while Reckell played Bo Brady. “They represent two of the most popular characters in the history of the show,” “DOOL” executive producer Ken Corday said in an exclusive report from Soap Opera Digest.

Alison Sweeney, who played Samantha "Sami" Brady, is also expected to return for the 50th Anniversary of “Days Of Our Lives,” Music Times writes. TV Line also reports that Thaao Penghlis (Andre), Jason Cook (Shawn), Camila Banus (Gabi), Tamara Braun (Ava) and Martha Madison (Belle) will appear in the soap as part of its golden anniversary.

The storyline of the upcoming “DOOL” episodes include a serial killer mystery on Thursday, according to Entertainment Weekly. The NBC soap opera, which has been renewed up to 2016, airs weekdays at 1 pm.
