The latest sequel "Dawn of the Planet of the Apes" will soon hit theatres come July 11. It is the sequel to the 2011 film "Rise of the Planet of the Apes," which is the eighth film in its franchise. The 'Dawn' happens 10 years after the 'Rise' of the Apes, and the new book "Dawn of the Planet of the Apes: Firestorm" will explain the important gaps and characters in the movie franchise's timelines.

The Dawn's story will revolve around Caesar and the rest of his genetically evolved apes being threatened by human survivors, after a worldwide "Simian Flu" virus spread the Earth a decade earlier in the story. Both sides will reach a short-lived peace but will later engage in a war to determine the Earth's most dominant species.

In the latest film Dawn, majority of the Earth's population was wiped out and only a few survivors remained. Firestorm will recount the beginnings of the flu and how Earth's people acted too late about the pandemic.

According to the book's initial reviews, Firestorm will not be a spoiler to the upcoming movie, but will rather introduce characters in the movie, and ones unique to the novel only. The book is undeniably based on the Dawn of the Planet of the Apes screenplay, but it serves as a helpful prequel that adds insight to some of the characters in the movie.

In the movie, Caesar the Ape will only have a few actual grunted dialogues. In the book, readers will better understand Caesar's viewpoint as he will have his own internal dialogue.

"Reading the novel isn't incredibly important for the franchise as a whole, but there is something to be said for immersing yourself in a world as much as possible," reported Hypable.

Firestorm will also be easy for readers to follow, especially connecting its details to the new movie. It also will not require if readers have seen Rise or not. The book's ending will have readers want to know more about the story, which is just very timely for the sequel due on July 11.
